JOA

JOA is the artist project of 21-year-old Johanna Skippervold, a songwriter and musician from Oslo, making honest, melody-driven organic pop. Blending Nordic songwriting traditions with the emotional precision of artists like Julia Michaels and Phoebe Bridgers, her music shifts between pop landscapes and stripped-back intimacy.

Following a strong debut with her EP Previous Problems, JOA returned in June 2025 with Lose You, her most vulnerable song so far. Lose You is about standing in the middle of something ending, when you still have feelings, but realize love might not be enough. 

Lose You offers a first glimpse into her upcoming second EP. This fall, she will bring her new material to the stage at the showcase festival by:Larm, marking an exciting new chapter in her evolving sound.
